Farmer Phil's Big Boy Tomato

Big Boy Tomato

Big Boy tomatoes are some of the more common hybrids of the beefsteak varieties. When you plant these in your garden, you’ll most likely experience a mid-season harvest, with plants bearing fruit until frosts hit. The fruit for this variety is often on the larger size, between 12 to 16 ounces typically. All plants should be spaced 24 to 36 inches apart in your garden.

Some suggestions we have for big boy tomatoes include:

Harvest: 70-80 days.
Exposure: Full sun.
Water Needs: Keep evenly moist.
Fertilizer: Fertilize when planting and when plants begin to bloom.
