Tricolor is an apt name for this type of sage, as the foliage contains white and pink streaks on a field of green. This variety of sage has somewhat different growing techniques. While the soil during spring and summer should be well-drained, it needs some mulch in the winter, unless the plant is brought indoors. Additionally, tricolor sage gets to be 24 to 32 inches tall and about 24 inches should be in between each transplant.
