This variety of thyme is used more often as a ground cover, as it’s not as aromatic as other types. Woolly thyme grows best in zones 2 through 9 and is known for a distinct appearance. All plants have silver-grey leaves that turn purple and stay that way through all seasons. In the summer, the plant grows small blue flowers.
