Thyme Varieties

Thyme is mostly used for cooking, although some varieties, such as woolly thyme, are used for ground covers. Typically, thyme is a medium climate plant, growing best in zones 5 through 9 when planted in the spring. All plants need full sun and well-drained but slightly dry soil. Additionally, most varieties are 12 to 15 inches tall, and 12 inches needs to be added between transplants.
