Farmer Phil's Bush Crop Cucumber

Bush Crop Cucumber

Bush cucumbers are one variety that doesn’t need a stake or trellis to grow. Instead, this variety has short vines that only grow a few feet away from the plant. As a result, bush cucumbers only take up about a third of the space as vining cucumbers. As a bonus, this vegetable is ideal for growing in pots. When adding bush cucumbers to your garden, you can add them in hills or rows. In either case, plenty of mulch, about four inches, and water are needed, as well as liquid fertilizer.

Harvest: 60 days.
Exposure: Full sun.
Water Needs: Water regularly.
Fertilizer: Fertilize when planting and when plants begin to bloom.
