Green Chives, also called onion chives or onion grass, have a waxy texture when fully mature. These plants do well in nearly all zones, particularly 3 through 10, and need full sun and well-drained soil. Add your transplants every eight to 12 inches in your garden, as green chives can get to be 12 inches tall.
