Farmer Phil's Jalapeno Pepper

Jalapeno Pepper

Jalapeno peppers are one of the smaller varieties, but the size works to their advantage. This pepper plant produces a large amount of fruit, and, for gardeners, Jalapeno's are one plant that can be grown in a pot just as well as in the ground. Each fruit is about three inches long and takes 72 days to mature. Additionally, all plants should be spaced 18 inches apart when added to your garden, as well as in rows 30 inches apart, and they will need plenty of water.

Our suggestions for Jalapeno peppers include:

Harvest: 60-65 days.
Exposure: Full sun.
Water Needs: Keep evenly moist.
Fertilizer: Fertilize when planting and when plants begin to bloom.
