Purple Sage is one of the least common varieties, mainly because the plant has a short lifespan than other types. As a perennial, purple sage is usually planted in spring and grows until summer. The soil, in addition, needs to be coarse to medium and well-drained. The plant grows to be 2.5 feet tall and about 24 inches of space should be between each of your purple sage transplants.
