Cantaloupe Melon
The typical cantaloupe is known as a ribbed melon with netted, tough skin. This variety of melon is more drought-tolerant, but ideally, hot weather and plenty of water makes it grow. Generally, about four to six feet is needed to grow one cantaloupe plant but, to reduce space in your garden, use a trellis, each spaced one foot apart, for the vines to grow.
If you plan to grow cantaloupe, we suggest:
Harvest: 73 days.
Exposure: Full sun.
Water Needs: Keep evenly moist, especially at transplant.
Fertilizer: Fertilize at transplant and during growing season.
