Garlic Chives

Garlic is one herb that grows in nearly every gardening zone. In fact, it can survive in any climate up to and including zone 2. Regardless of where you live, if you want to add garlic, you need to find an undisturbed area with full sun. Some techniques for growing this herb include adding compost to your soil and giving plants one inch of water per week. About one-quarter of the top growth can be removed when growing.

Recipe: Garlic Chive Spread

Garlic is used in many recipes. Here’s one of ours for garlic chive spread:

Garlic chive spread
2 8 oz packages cream cheese softened
2 Tbs butter softened
3 Tbs chopped fresh garlic chives
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Cream all ingredients together. Keep refrigerated.
