Growing Tomatoes

Tomatoes are considered some of the easiest plants to grow. Essentially, you can put them in the ground, provide them with support and feed it regularly to create a huge harvest. Nevertheless, if you’re growing any of the various species of tomato plants, here are some suggestions to yield a solid crop:

  • Plant all tomato plants in the late spring after the danger of frost has passed and the soil is warmed.
  • Keep all plants in a sunny area.
  • Make sure the soil pH is between 6.2 and 6.8, with major and minor plant nutrients from fertilizer and compost mixed into the soil.
  • Deep planting is best for tomatoes. In this case, part of the stem should be buried in soil.
  • For harvesting, the tomatoes can be stored in doors or in the shade, but they shouldn’t be refrigerated. Refrigeration diminishes flavor.
